Iowa Expansion Incentives
Client Profile
Headquartered in Nebraska, this custom metal screening manufacturer provides end-to-end fabrication services for engineered and architectural products. Following a sustained surge in sales growth, the company identified the need to expand operations into Iowa to increase production capacity and support projected demand.
The client engaged our Location Advisory Services team to evaluate and secure local and Iowa expansion program incentives tied to job creation and capital investment associated with the expansion.
Process
Our team evaluated Iowa’s incentive programs to determine how they matched the client’s hiring plans, capital investment, and operational timeline. Because the client planned to create 55 new positions, we centered our strategy on securing workforce development support.
We coordinated with state and local stakeholders to structure participation in the Iowa New Jobs Training Program (260E). Because the program requires an approved training framework and collaboration with an eligible community college, our team worked with the client and local education partners to design a compliant training plan tailored to the company’s technical manufacturing roles.
The process required coordination among multiple entities to ensure:
- The training curriculum aligned with statutory requirements
- Job eligibility thresholds were met
- Documentation supported wage and job creation commitments
- Funding mechanics allowed grant proceeds to flow properly to the company
In parallel, our team worked with local officials to secure participation in a 10-year Urban Renewal Program, aligning projected property tax increment with the company’s capital investment plan.
The engagement was completed within a two-month timeline, allowing the client to proceed with its expansion plans on schedule.
Results
The client secured the following incentives in support of its Iowa expansion:
- Iowa New Jobs Training Program (260E): $447,272
- 10-Year Urban Renewal Program: $500,000
These programs gave structured support for workforce development and capital investment linked directly to creating 55 new jobs. The incentives aligned with statutory requirements and fit into the client’s broader expansion and financial planning strategy.
