EDGE Credit Case Study

VS Engineering was founded in Indianapolis, IN in 1980.  The company has provided engineering services for over 30 years to municipal, county, and private sector projects.  Throughout the years, VS Engineering had established satellite offices around the state of Indiana.  Now, the company looks to expand its services and become a Midwest regional civil engineering company by expanding its services into surround states.

VS Engineering hired McGuire Sponsel to negotiate and procure economic incentives on their behalf in support of the company’s considered expansion.  McGuire Sponsel negotiated and worked with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) to procure tax incentives to assist with the company’s growing employment needs.  The company, with the guidance and collaboration of McGuire Sponsel’s Location Advisory Services team, requested and received an Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE) tax credit. These incentives will assist the company in growing its Indiana offices by adding as many as 65 new employees over the next 3-5 years.  The company anticipates significant growth at its Indianapolis headquarters and further growth at its Lafayette, Bloomington, Ft. Wayne, and Evansville based offices.
