ACE Glass & Plastics Recycling to Build Cutting-Edge Recycling Plant in North Little Rock
EPIC Glass Recycling, an Arkansas based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is partnering with ACE Glass and Plastics Recycling who is ramping up plans to build a glass recycling plant in North Little Rock just east of I-440. The first phase of this plant, scheduled to be operational in early 2024, will involve the installation of processing equipment to make cullet from collected glass.
“We’re very excited to be able to offer an in-state recycling option for cities, counties, and solid waste agencies that currently collect glass, ramp up collections where not currently offered, and add additional services where needed. By being able to collect, recycle and manufacture product from glass in an end-to-end process, EPIC Glass Recycling will now be able to productively repurpose what was once waste into viable products or raw materials rather than sending it to landfills or out of state.” said Courtney Little, Founder of EPIC Glass Recycling. Having a plant in Central Arkansas will make glass recycling more cost effective for communities across the state and in surrounding states.
“It has been an honor to support ACE Glass and Plastics Recycling and their growth project in Arkansas. I’ve truly enjoyed working with Courtney Little and John Steck and their vision for this facility will provide valuable opportunities to the greater Little Rock community,” said Ben Worrell, Location Advisory Services Principal at McGuire Sponsel. “It is always great to celebrate new jobs and new investment, and the North Little Rock/Pulaski County communities will be proud to have this addition within their business community. Thank you to the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, Little Rock Regional Chamber, and North Little Rock community for their partnership and advocacy for this project.”
“We’re excited for ACE Glass and Plastics to join other recent developments for recycling in North Little Rock. With aluminum, metal and now glass and plastic, our city is moving forward with the newest technologies in recycling and is fast becoming the center of recycling for the state.” shared Mayor Terry Hartwick “Expansions like this are meeting a need in the community to serve both the environment and the economy,” said Jay Chesshir, President and CEO of the Little Rock Regional Chamber. “ACE and EPIC are wonderful examples of home-grown companies finding success in the region and we look forward to their continued growth.”
EPIC Glass Recycling was founded in 2017. As an Arkansas based non-profit, the organization is committed to improving sustainability and creating jobs. The EPIC and ACE Teams are dedicated to closing the glass loop and providing cost effective recycling options. This aggregate plant will create a better opportunity for the glass to be recycled into a product that will meet those goals by creating over 30 new jobs and saving money on Arkansas road construction. EPIC is pleased to partner with cities, counties, and solid waste agencies to dramatically improve glass recycling efforts across the state. ACE is glad to make products that can use that glass. Together, they are improving the recycling efforts across the state.
