With locations across Indiana, Peterman Brothers has become one of the state’s most prominent residential plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and electrical services providers. The company currently employs over 600 people across its six Indiana locations.

Peterman Brothers approached McGuire Sponsel to procure incentives on their behalf for their hiring goal of 450 new employees. Despite a short timeline due to rapid growth, we aimed to get the client as much benefit in as little time as possible.

Process

To accomplish this task, our Location Advisory team negotiated a deal with state and local officials that involved the EDGE tax credit, which is tied to job creation and typically realized over a 10-year period. Based on the company’s projections of 450 new jobs, we were able to leverage the company’s projected headcount growth and procure a $5.5 million EDGE tax credit for Peterman Brothers. The process of negotiating and procuring the credit took about one month. Thanks to all parties, the process was smooth and efficient.
