The Challenge
Buckingham Management began in 1984 in Indianapolis and has grown to a company that manages nearly $1 billion in real estate assets. Buckingham has real estate projects in Ohio, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, and many other markets around the country. With this growth, Buckingham needs to grow its management and services group to maintain its growing portfolio of assets and deliver on its high quality amenities. Buckingham considered its growth options in multiple major markets.

Study Results
Buckingham Management hired McGuire Sponsel to manage the negotiation and procurement of multiple State economic incentives offers. . Buckingham Management choose to continue their growth in Indianapolis, Indiana. McGuire Sponsel negotiated and worked with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) and Develop Indy to procure tax credits to assist with the establishment of an expanded headquarters operation in downtown Indianapolis. The company, with the guidance and collaboration of McGuire Sponsel’s Credits and Incentives team, requested and received EDGE tax credits from the State of Indiana which will assist with the expansion of a its Indiana office operation increasing its professional headcount by a projected 60+ employees.
