Indianapolis, IN. – Governor Eric Holcomb this week signed in to law House Bill 1002, strengthening and increasing the funding for Employer Workforce Grants under the Next Level Jobs Program. The bill increased overall funding for the program to $10M annually while increasing the per employee benefit and annual maximum employer benefits to $5,000 and $50,000 respectively.
The Employer Training Grant can reimburse employers for training expenses for qualifying new employees for expenses incurred during the first six months of employment. It targets middle-skill jobs in manufacturing, agriculture, construction, health sciences, information and business services, and transportation and logistics.
Companies do not have to be increasing their overall workforce to benefit from available grants. Any company hiring and training for qualified jobs can potentially benefit from the program. With up to $50,000 available annually to help offset the costs of training, the program will provide Indiana companies with a critical competitive advantage.
Participating companies can receive:
Up to $5,000 in training grants per qualified new employee
Up to $50,000 per year in grants
Overall grant funding is limited to $10M per year and is administered by the Department of Workforce Development. Grants will be provided as requests are made, making it critical for companies to enter the program as soon as possible.
