Professional Goals: To continue sharing the McGuire Sponsel story and becoming a trusted resource to CPA firms nationally. In addition, continue to educate, empower, and mentor our team of consultants as I enjoy seeing individuals take on new challenges and reaching success.
Personal Goal for 2019: Take our boys to their first Indy 500 and to complete a marathon in the fall!
How did I land at McGuire Sponsel: Actually, I was referred by my brother-in-law, Tedder Schwarz (Principal of our IC-DISC practice) in early 2012. I was in the public accounting industry and the opportunity/challenge was intriguing. To this day, I remember my interview with Sponsel as he stated they had a great starting team, one that he would put up against any firm in the country and that McGuire Sponsel was looking to add to the bench. I left with a little chip on my shoulder and motivated to prove my worth and exceed expectations! Interestingly enough, I was actually hired for the R&D Tax Credit practice but there was an immediate need for help on the Cost Segregation side. From that day, it has been off to the races!
Hometown: I was born in Tucson, AZ but lived in Lafayette, IN for so long that I probably should start claiming it as my hometown.
Family: My beautiful bride, Amanda of 11 years…sons Clayton (6), Colton (6), Cameron (3) and daughter Caitlyn (2).
Favorite Quote: Not exactly sure who said this but it is something I think of everyday as I make sure to appreciate/enjoy the time with our kids….”The days are long but the years are short.” You always hear people say how quick time goes by with kids but you truly do not appreciate it until you are experiencing it.
Unique Fun Fact about myself: Most people are shocked to learn that I used to be quite the video game nerd in the past. I spent about a year getting paid to play games such as Halo and Call of Duty before the “real world” hit me!
