Happy Holidays from McGuire Sponsel

As McGuire Sponsel looks to a new year, we wanted to take a moment and express gratitude to all of our alliance partners, clients, friends and vendors for helping make 2016 a truly special year. The concept for our firm began in 2005 with Dave McGuire and T.J. Sponsel attending an industry conference in St. Louis. We have now grown into a firm that serves over 130 CPA firms and 500 businesses across the country.
It’s hard to believe that 2016 is already coming to a close. The past year was marked by much progress at McGuire Sponsel, including increasing our team to 27 professionals. Our four core practice lines all experienced strong revenue growth. Our focus on being a trusted resource to local and regional CPA firms continues to be the bedrock principle at McGuire Sponsel. As the new year brings potential changes to tax law, McGuire Sponsel can be relied upon to be a trusted resource in assisting CPAs in serving their clients.
While we believe that reinvesting in McGuire Sponsel has been a key reason for the growth in our alliance firm network, we are committed to paying it forward by supporting charitable causes with our time and finance. In honor of our clients and friends, the firm has made donations to Outreach Indiana, Shoe Closets, Inc. and St. Philip Neri School this holiday season. In addition to these donations, we continue to support the fight against cancer via the IU Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center.
We say it often, because it means so much to us, but we truly appreciate the confidence that is placed with McGuire Sponsel. We wish you and your family the very best this holiday season and hope that 2017 is filled with much success.

Potential Tax Rate Changes and How to Benefit

David McGuire

Over the past few weeks I’ve had many discussions with our CPA clients concerning the changes that may develop from the recent election.  While tax policy for 2017 and beyond is still up in the air, most practitioners feel that a rate drop will most likely be in effect for the top marginal tax rates.  This could create a limited window to generate permanent tax savings for taxpayers.
