How One Engineering Firm Gained Success with the R&D Tax Credit

McGuire Sponsel would like to take a moment to spotlight a Research and Development (R&D) Tax Credit success story. Over the past several years, our firm has had the opportunity to work with NCC Automation Systems, Inc. (NCC) to conduct R&D Tax Credit studies. NCC is highly qualified for the R&D Tax Credit, focusing on engineering, manufacturing and installation of automated packaging and conveyor systems primarily for the food, food packaging and ophthalmic automation industries.

“I have described McGuire Sponsel as a machine that is highly focused on a few niche areas and understands the R&D Tax Credit like none other. Their process is a finely tuned system, making it a low risk choice, but with high reward - a perfect combination. I recommend McGuire Sponsel to my peers all the time,” states Kevin Mauger, President of NCC.

McGuire Sponsel Welcomes Two New Employees

Scott Norbot

Jamie Skerston

McGuire Sponsel would like to welcome Scott Norbot and Jamie Skerston as our newest team members.  Scott is a Tax Consultant for the Cost Segregation Practice. In this position, he spends the majority of his time conducting site visits, performing cost segregation depreciation analysis, and reclassifying assets to maximize personal property.

Prior to joining McGuire Sponsel, Scott worked for an investment company as a data management analyst, where he examined the quarterly investment performance of companies and analyzed bond market prices and trends.  Scott attended Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management, where he received Bachelor of Science degrees in both Finance and Management.

“I’m looking forward to this position at McGuire Sponsel because I’ve always had an interest in real estate.  I will be able to utilize my accounting background and apply those skills to the firm’s Cost Segregation clients,” states Scott.

Scott resides in downtown Indianapolis.  He is an active volunteer for the Misericordia Foundation, serving people with disabilities.  He has two black labs, enjoys riding his motorcycle, and is passionate about physical activity.

Jamie Skerston is a Tax Consultant for the R&D Tax Credit Practice. In this consultant role, she spends the majority of her time maximizing clients’ research credits.  This includes conducting fieldwork, analyzing client data, and preparing technical reports.
